State Senator Steve McClure (R-Springfield) released the following statement following the Governor’s announcement of his partial lifting of the indoor mask mandate:
“While I’m glad that the Governor will be taking away some of the mask mandates, it’s clear that his decisions are based on political science instead of hard science. That is the only explanation for why he is allowing adults to go mask-less, while forcing children to mask up. He should have involved the General Assembly from the very beginning, shared the science and data he claimed he was using, and allowed us to hold hearings on state mitigation efforts.”
