State Senator Steve McClure (R-Springfield) released the following statement following United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem’s press conference in Springfield:
“The Homeland Security Secretary’s words put an exclamation point on what Illinoisans unfortunately already know- that Governor Pritzker’s sanctuary policies are making Illinois less safe, costing taxpayers billions of dollars, and are likely in violation of federal law. The Governor’s refusal to allow law enforcement to communicate with federal officials means that criminals are kept here, in our communities. This isn’t an issue at the border anymore, Governor Pritzker has made sure the crisis is right here in Illinois neighborhoods.”
