Senator McClure Honored as a “Prairie State Policy Champion”

With an eye on his on work toward reducing the state’s tax burden, getting government spending under control, and protecting choices for families, State Senator Steve McClure (R-Springfield) has been honored by American for Prosperity – Illinois (AFP-IL) as a “Prairie State Policy Champion.”.

“From my first day in office, I have been committed to make things better for the people of Illinois,” said Senator McClure. “It’s an honor to be recognized for my work in the Senate to fight against high taxes and rein in government spending.”

AFP-IL, a grassroots conservative organization, selected lawmakers to receive the “Prairie State Policy Champion” awards based on their work in limiting government overreach, reducing taxes, and protecting the right of families to make educational choices for children, including homeschooling.

“Illinois needs more principled leaders like Senator McClure in Springfield fighting for Illinois taxpayers and reining in out-of-control government spending,” said Jason Heffley, AFP-IL State Director. “Sen. McClure has consistently prioritized fiscal responsibility over special interests, while also leading on AFP-supported legislation in the Capitol. Sen. McClure is a conservative, commonsense leader and AFP-Illinois will help educate constituents on his dedication and service to the Land of Lincoln.”

McClure was presented with the award at his office in the Illinois Capitol complex in Springfield.
