In recognition of his work to support Illinois businesses and job growth, State Senator Steve McClure (R-Springfield) has once again been recognized by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce as a “Champion of Free Enterprise.”
“Illinois needs policies that help our businesses thrive so that they can create good jobs for the people of the state,” said Senator McClure. “It’s an honor to once again be recognized for my advocacy and work to promote sound economic policies that help our economy grow.”
The “Champion of Free Enterprise” award is given to lawmakers who have worked to drive economic development, create jobs, and reduce regulatory burdens. The organization analyzes the voting records of state legislators and gives the award to those who have been rated with a score of 85% or higher over the last two General Assemblies.
“Serving as Assistant Leader and Assistant Floor Leader for the Senate Republican Caucus, Senator McClure has consistently demonstrated himself to be a dependable advocate for the Illinois business community,” said Illinois Chamber President and CEO Lou Sandoval. “In recognizing his unwavering commitment to the business community, exemplary leadership, and his ongoing collaboration within the Caucus, we are proud to present Senator McClure with the Champion of Free Enterprise Award.”
