The Shelby County Rescue Squad will be able to keep operating and protecting the people they serve thanks to legislation filed by State Senator Steve McClure (R-Springfield) that was recently signed into law.
“I’m thankful to members of the Shelby County Board for coming up with the idea for this legislation,” said Senator McClure. “I’m proud that this bipartisan bill will help the Shelby County Rescue Squad stay on the job and help keep the people of the county safe.”
Shelby County Board members asked McClure to file Senate Bill 1102, which officially authorizes the county to operate their rescue squad and provide necessary benefits to squad members. The bill is designed to clear up regulations that could have forced the rescue squad to shut down.
SB1102 was signed by the Governor on August 9th.
