Proudly serving as a voice for central Illinois
State Senator Steve McClure (R-Springfield) took his seat in the Illinois Senate Chamber at the capitol on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2019 after securing his place in the November 6, 2018 election.
“It’s important that the 50th Senate District has a representative who speaks to the concerns of our area,” said Sen. McClure. “I’m proud to be that voice, and I’ll be dedicated to addressing constituent issues, advocating for better government policies, and most importantly, serving the interests of our communities.”
Sen. McClure’s public service began long before his fall election win. He is a former prosecutor who served as chief of the Juvenile Division in the Sangamon County State’s Attorney’s Office and later as an assistant state’s attorney in that office’s Felony Division.
“It’s a distinct honor to serve our citizens, and I’ve already begun work to address issues facing our region. I encourage residents to stay involved and reach out to me about their legislative priorities. Their input will guide my votes over the coming months and years,” said Sen. McClure.
